When Michael was eight years old, his father and mother gave him his first camera – a “Brownie Hawkeye.” He began by photographing everything and everyone around him – family, friends, the neighborhood, his school, the city and its architecture. He set out to capture the world on film. Over the years his photographic style evolved into documenting the urban environment and the interaction of real people in their real lives, with real challenges.

With a journalistic approach to filmmaking, Michael aims to tell the story of his travels and the people he meets.
His first documentary film, “Reaching Out to a Higher Power” tells the story of persons experiencing homelessness, their ongoing challenges and how spirituality guides each of them through their journey.

About Michael

He set out to capture the world on film. Over the years his photographic style evolved into documenting the urban environment and the interaction of real people in their real lives.
Michael thrills in taking to the streets with his camera, shooting from the hip, meeting new people and exploring our country’s great cities. He embraces the flavor, the vibe, and the social challenges of each city. He prefers public transportation and walking as the means to get around each city, enabling him to immerse himself in the culture, and meet and interact with persons of many ethnic and professional backgrounds and all walks of life.
His journalistic approach to photography, and more recently video, has enabled Michael to tell the story of his travels and the stories of the people he meets.

Michael is inspired by and is very proud of his family – wife Dina, daughters Stacey and Jennifer, son Brandon, sons-in-law George and Jim and grandchildren Lily, Clive, Alice, Johnny and Leo.
